LateNightTales welcomes Dave Maclean of Django Django for the next in their series of vibes packed Bristol parties.
Django Django released their self-titled debut album on UK independent label Because Music in early 2012 to some acclaim, winding up in many critics’ end of year lists (Top Ten in the NME and Top 30 in Rolling Stone, among them) and a Mercury Prize nomination. The Django’s Late Night Tales album in 2014 compiled Outkast, TNGHT, Massive Attack and Roy Davis Jnr’s eternal ‘Gabriel’ alongside obsessions from their parent’s record collections. As a DJ Dave Maclean plays a dazzlingly wide set of house, funk, dancehall and hip hop; always strictly vinyl. His own record label Kick + Clap has seen releases from Neil Landstrumm, Tom Furze of The Horrors, Rye Rye and Bullion.
15 years strong in 2016, Late Night Tales invites the world’s best artists to delve deep into their music collections to create the ultimate "late night” selection. The series includes expertly curated mixes by Bonobo, Groove Armada, Jon Hopkins, Franz Ferdinand, Django Django, Four Tet, Belle & Sebastian, Nils Frahm and The Cinematic Orchestra.
